Square Enix announced FFXIII for the 360 at the end of a long an boring conference and the meltdowns have begun. All of a sudden PS3 owners are left with a 599 bluray player.

A very confused poster on GAF begins the thread on this topic with
Gamespots E3 page for the Microsoft conference shows some images titled “Final Fantasy XIII (X360)” in the bottom right corner under “E308 images”. Can’t find a thread about it anywhere, and just started watching the conference so maybe I missed it.

SE: No! NOT OUR RACK! Kaz, you…
Kaz shoves the rack with full force, and the magazines scatter as the rack skitters across the lobby. In a flash, Kaz is out the front door.
SE: So, who is going to pick this up? Didn’t we hire a few more helper monkeys after that MS check came in? Get them on it.

I really don’t want to be on the earth right now anymore. I’m not specifically talking suicide(even though I feel that way somewhat), but I need to get into another world. Like a dream, a video game, or television show etc. I need to do something to get my mind of all of this. Am I taking it way too seriously? Probably, but I, like every human lacks any type of control over their emotions. This is just how I feel And right now I’m so emotionally unstable that I just felt the need to type all of this and I don’t care how it looks.

Square just shot themselves in the foot.
I don’t know how much the rest of you know about Japanese culture (I’m an expert), but honor and shame are huge parts of it. It’s not like it is in America where you can become successful by being an asshole. If you screw someone over in Japan, you bring shame to yourself, and the only way to get rid of that shame is repentance.
What this means is the japanese public, after hearing about this, is not going to want to purchase FFXIII for either system, nor will they purchase any of Square’s games. This is HUGE. You can laugh all you want, but Square has alienated an entire market with this move.
Square, publicly apologize and cancel FFXIII for 360 or you can kiss your business goodbye.
