In all the hype over Killzone 2, a dev quickly mentions the use of  ray tracing in the game. This is probably a mistake (or at the very least begging for a clarification) because ray tracing is computationally  very expensive often taking minutes or hours to render a single frame depending on the level of detail and reflection of the image.  But that didn’t stop ps3forums from proving once again that ignorance is bliss.Â
i don’t know what raytracing is. but it sounds cool and helpful.
keep in mind this excitement is over mere mention of the word in a video with no explanation.Â
hypersphere
well the guy says it. and devs dont blatantly lie about huge things like that so its probably true.Â

In reality ray tracing has been done on the PS3. It only took 3 PS3s connected together to do it. Killzone 2 unlocks the power of the two other PS3s in one!

They could run raytracing if they ran it off the Cell Broadband Processor, along with the AI scripts, instead of off the graphics card.
The Cell Broadband Processor runs at over two teraflops at full capacity and over 25 gigahertz.
no, is not possible. maybe they just use raytracing for the shadow like crytek does. but a fully realtime raytraced game isn not possible on one ps3.
Haha Killzone 2 raytracing. Realtime raytracing on console??? Are you fuc**ng stupid?
